An investigation is underway after a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Jan. 1, leaving one person dead and seven others injured, according to local authorities.

The NOPD responded to a fatal traffic crash that occurred during the early hours today (January 1, 2024) at the intersection of Bourbon and Canal streets that has resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, including the suspected pereptrator.

Jimmy Cothran, a New Orleans resident who was in a nearby nightclub at the time of the incident, spoke with NBC News about the horrors he and others witnessed. Sharing that he and friends noticed “a lot of commotion” at the end of Bourbon Street, Cothran said he ducked into the nightclub going up onto a balcony to see what had happened.
